Stoneware Fairy House

I am a potter living in the beautiful mountains of northern New Mexico, one hour from Santa Fe. My work is mostly in functional and decorative stoneware. In a recent garden fair in Santa Fe, where I had several of my stoneware birdhouses on display, a customer mentioned that one of my smaller birdhouses would be perfect in the fairy garden she and her daughter were creating. Intrigued, I went home and researched fairy houses and fairy gardens and was immediatly entranced with what I found. At that moment I knew that creating fairy houses from clay was what I wanted to do. Each little house I create has its own personality and identity. Working in clay has always fulfilled me, but creating little homes for garden fairies, gnomes, hobbits, and the occasional toad, has become an exciting and satisfying occupation for me.
